Job Title:

Lally & Co, LLC is seeking a Tax Senior Associate to join our team in Pittsburgh, PA.

Job Summary:

The Tax Senior Associate will be responsible for assisting the Managers and Partners with various tax projects. This position will work closely with other team members to ensure that all tax projects are completed in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, able to work independently, and have the ability to multi-task.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with preparation of complex business, individual, and trust tax returns for Federal and various states.
  • Coordinate IRS and state tax audits as well as responding to tax notices.
  • Utilize research skills to resolve client tax and accounting issues.
  • Prepare tax appeals and other related documents for various taxing jurisdictions.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting or related field
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and eligible to sit for the CPA exam.
  • Reliable, strong work ethic, ability to prioritize to meet tight deadlines, and a commitment to exceptional client service, and ability to work as a team;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to organize questions and proactively interact with senior level staff;
  • Proven skills using Microsoft Office applications.
  • CPA or EA license is strongly preferred.
  • A working knowledge of ProSystem fx Tax or Axcess Tax is a plus, but not required.

John Lally is the founding partner of Lally & Co., where he dedicated his career to advising business owners and senior management on strategic planning, business valuation, litigation support, and complex tax matters. A trusted advisor for decades, John played a central role in shaping the firm’s growth, service philosophy, and commitment to client relationships.

John began his professional career in 1978 with the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of International Banking before joining PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1979. In 1983, he founded the firm that would ultimately become Lally & Co., helping establish the firm’s reputation for technical excellence and practical guidance.

As Partner Emeritus, John continues to contribute his time to the firm as a trusted advisor and to several boards and professional committees as he did through his career.

Randy Reynolds
